Dom’s Thoughts

Hello, Edinburgh…

Arriving in Edinburgh today to sunshine and blue skies - excited and ready (I think?)

My moment…

The more eagle eyed of you might have seen that Nikki and I enjoyed a VIP trip to the famous Battersea Dogs Home before heading off to the Edinburgh Festival.

The Greatest Accolade…

The name Ronnie Barker provokes great affection amongst people in the UK of a certain age and yet, it means nothing to readers elsewhere.

Small world eh?

Driving around London, I can point out to some remarkable and obscure places that I have done gigs over the years. On the river Thames; on various pleasure craft and even HMS Belfast.

Scandalous…

Met a young Asian guy the other day and we got chatting. Late 20's, he has a wife, three kids and a first class law degree. Nicely set up then?

Surely, I am not alone on this…

A dog walk in the park this morning in the searing heat - we seek out the shade, clinging to the edge of the park and the cover of the tree-line while Tess makes for the brook and adds fish to the long list of animals that she is unable to catch.

Old School in every way…

I proudly showed Paddy around the place. The playground where I played football - in my head, a dominant midfield general, in reality, a player always picked towards the end!

6 previews down…

Drove to Nottingham last night for a preview of my show, Eclipsed - which with two weeks to go - is coming along very well.

The power of Grace…

I did it last week for the second time and more than a decade since my debut. My opening line explained this and then I added, 'I must have done really well to get booked back so soon.'

A ‘friend’ in need…

It was more that from a very early age, I figured out something that I could do and wanted to possibly pursue for a career (being funny) as opposed to just wanting to be famous.
