BAFTA and Burberry Pick 17 Breakthrough Brits
Names on the inaugural list include actor Tom Holland (“The Impossible”), filmmaker Rowan Athale and writer Dominic Mitchell (TV’s “In the Flesh”).
LONDON â€“ ActorÂ Tom Holland, who appeared inÂ The ImpossibleÂ alongsideNaomi WattsÂ andÂ Ewan McGregor, is among the 17 names picked for the inaugural British Academy of Film and Television Arts Breakthrough Brits, in partnership with Burberry.
The 17 newcomers were handpicked by a jury for BAFTA and Burberry as people “who are making a name for themselves within film, television or games.”
The chosen few also included writer-directorÂ Rowan Athale, whose debut featureÂ WastelandÂ played at the 2012 Toronto Film Festival and TV writerDominic Mitchell, who wroteÂ In the FleshÂ for the BBC.
Jury members includedÂ Felicity JonesÂ (The Invisible Woman),Â Eddie RedmayneÂ (Les Miserables) andÂ Shane Meadows.
